The Dragon’s Gambit – After-School Chess Club

The Dragon’s Gambit is an inclusive, after-school chess club designed for students who enjoy games, puzzles, and friendly competition. This program is open to all 4th and 5th grade students and does not require prior chess experience.

Program Description

The club provides a relaxed and welcoming environment where students and staff come together to learn and enjoy chess. Activities focus on learning fundamentals, building strategy skills, and encouraging good sportsmanship.

Activities Include

·         Learning the basics of chess
·         Practicing strategy and critical thinking skills
·         Playing friendly games with classmates and teachers
·         Participating in weekly chess challenges

Eligibility

Open to all 4th and 5th grade students.

No prior chess experience is required.

Schedule

Day: Thursdays

Start Date: February 19, 2026

No Meetings On: March 12, 2026 and March 19, 2026
