Day of Service and Love - 2026
On Friday, February 13, 2026, Driftwood Elementary School hosted a Day of Service and Love in commemoration of the 17 loved ones tragically taken and those injured as a result of the tragedy at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School on February 14, 2018.
The video above is Driftwood Elementary students, staff and volunteers came together to share LOVE via a life size lettering in the PE field.
Gift Giving
Gifts were donated by the Xtreme Team by LPT Realty Group. Every child in our school received a wrapped present to open together in honor of the gift-giving season. The realty group not only donated the gifts, but their time as well in order to make the event extra special for every child.
New Worlds Reading Recognition & Reading Event
On Friday, December 5th, our second graders enjoyed an exciting day filled with literacy and fun! Thanks to New Worlds Reading and Universal Property and Casualty Insurance, students participated in a special New Worlds Reading Recognition & Reading Event.
Highlights of the day included:
- A lively read-aloud of The Grasshopper and the Ant.
- Free books and surprise gifts for every student.
- Special guests: Clifford the Big Red Dog and retired NFL legend Dan Marino!
Students had the unique opportunity to meet Mr. Marino, ask questions, and share in the excitement.
The event’s focus was simple yet powerful: instilling a lifelong love of reading. It was a day to remember, and smiles were everywhere!
